It was worth the wait! Photographer spends eight hours a night in the snow to capture jaw-dropping images of Northern Lights.

A photographer spent eight hours a night, braving snow and fierce winds to capture these stunning images of the Northern Lights. They were taken by 27-year-old Swiss Stefan Forster, during his time in Iceland, Greenland and Norway. Stefan, who has visited Iceland six times to photograph the stunning natural phenomena, braved fierce winds and minus 6 degrees to get perfect shots. He said: ‘The only thing you can plan is the point you will stand at night to wait for the green and red lights.' Stefan revealed his favourite place to photograph the lights is often full of other photographers, who have the same idea. He said: ‘I went to Jökulsarlon beach which is one of the best known places for photographers in the whole of Europe and on some days there are hundreds of photographers standing between the icebergs and trying to take a picture without anyone in the picture. ‘Despite this massive overcrowding this place is just magic.
